It's Been Two Years

Pierson and Maylin just are a part of our lives. Sometimes I forget that they haven't actually been with us forever. Looking back at these few pictures makes it real. It reminds me that we haven't always been together. It reminds me that they have a past. A past which I would like to know more about, yet at the same time erase from their little minds. Not because I am jealous, but more because the first few years of their lives were difficult paths. If I could make their futures easier by forgetting that past I would. Yet even while hoping for that I am reminded of the saying "That which does not kill us makes us stronger."  I pray Pierson and Maylin use their history to make them strong children of God.

As they are sleeping tonight I have been reminiscing the past two years. There has been much laughter and joy. There has been a fair share of tears but those tears don't even begin to put a shadow on the love that has grown in our family.

Life has changed drastically. It has sped up and slowed down at the same time. It has become full and meaningful. It has become precious and fragile. Everyday is a new journey of fairy tales and warriors, good guys and bad guys. With Pierson and Maylin each day is a story waiting to unfold.

I love our new lives. Life is good.
Happy Gotcha Day Pierson and Maylin!

I'm so, so glad that God decided you would be part of our family.
