Easter Eve

Things are way more fun and way more noisy when there are six kids in a house. Even reading books can be a challenge when you have a marching band in the house.  :)
The day was filled with giggles and silliness.
 We dyed eggs (even superman).
 We painted our dyed eggs.
 Some better than others. ;)
We got rides from cousin Chad.
Grilled and ate, and ate, and ate!
We celebrated a new baby coming into the family.
 We investigated with new spyware!
We played games at the baby shower. Adam won!
 We caught minnows.
a couple of us fell in the water...
I won't mention those kids names... but :)

By the time we got home we were dirty and tired. If it had not been for the fact that the next day was Easter Sunday we might have let the stinky kids skip a bath. But we didn't.
We finished the day with Grandma reading a book about Easter. It was a great non-stop-kind-of-day! Things are always better with family!

Happy Easter Monday!

More to come from our wonderful, whirlwind of a weekend soon! It was an awesome Easter weekend filled with love and family! The only downer was that it ended all too soon!

I am so thankful for for a risen God! Happy Easter

Sibling Love

Peek-A-Boo

"Seriously?"

Pierson thinks he is pretty funny.
Maylin... not so much.
LOL

Two different people...

from the same family.
Pierson... the one who's mind is always racing.
My little engineer loved that he discovered he could put the bikes in the above position, turn one pedal and make the other bikes pedals and wheel turn as well!
Maylin, my little artist, sees everything as a pallet for painting!

Put these two kids together and...
well, things like this happen! Even their approach to riding bikes is different.
For the record no one got hurt... this time!

It's Been Two Years

My, how things change.

March 23, 2012

Pierson and Maylin just are a part of our lives. Sometimes I forget that they haven't actually been with us forever. Looking back at these few pictures makes it real. It reminds me that we haven't always been together. It reminds me that they have a past. A past which I would like to know more about, yet at the same time erase from their little minds. Not because I am jealous, but more because the first few years of their lives were difficult paths. If I could make their futures easier by forgetting that past I would. Yet even while hoping for that I am reminded of the saying "That which does not kill us makes us stronger."  I pray Pierson and Maylin use their history to make them strong children of God.

As they are sleeping tonight I have been reminiscing the past two years. There has been much laughter and joy. There has been a fair share of tears but those tears don't even begin to put a shadow on the love that has grown in our family.

Life has changed drastically. It has sped up and slowed down at the same time. It has become full and meaningful. It has become precious and fragile. Everyday is a new journey of fairy tales and warriors, good guys and bad guys. With Pierson and Maylin each day is a story waiting to unfold.

I love our new lives. Life is good.
Happy Gotcha Day Pierson and Maylin!
