A Birthday That Keeps On Giving!

Around here birthdays never seem to quit! (much to Maylin's liking!) Because we were out of town some,, we had to have several 'parties' for Maylin so that she could celebrate with everyone! This party was with cousins and more grandparents.
These three truly are the most beautiful (inside and out) princesses in the land!
Maylin is a "fa-na-nina pwin-sus" (more frequently referred to as a ballerina princess to the outside world). Her little smile melts my heart!
This time Maylin got to help me make cupcakes. She helped ice them and top them with sprinkles!

My little princess is 5! How can that be?

While we were singing Happy Birthday to her she looked so surprised and delighted! She giggled and looked around the room as if she couldn't believe that everyone was singing for her! It gave me chills to see her so excited.
People have asked me if I regret adopting older children (people really do ask the dumbest questions). My answer to that is absolutely not! My only regret is that I missed PIERSON and MAYLIN's first years. These two fit so perfectly with Adam and I. I don't wish I could have had another child so that I could have experienced their first years. I wish I could have had these exact children earlier so that they didn't have to wait until their fifth and sixth birthdays to feel like special treasures. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone... but it makes sense to me. :)

With sheer delight she blew out her candles!

The love that these two have for each other is awe inspiring. They look out for each other always. Not to say that they don't have their sibling spats but for the most part they get along so well. They have a bond that most of us
can't relate to. They have been through so much together in their short little lives.
Pierson didn't once ask me for presents or even want to lick Maylin's candles. He seemed to just sit back and appreciate watching his sister be celebrated with a love that I'll never fully understand.
Pierson and Maylin you are our royal Prince and Princess!

Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God wins victory after victory and is always with you. He celebrates and sings because of you, and he will refresh your life with his love."

Happy Birthday My Sweet Girl!

That is wonderful! I suppose you get should get to celebrate a bunch to make up for lost time! I love the picture of the two of them. I hope that relationship doesn't fade.

Happy birthday again Maylin! I miss you to Pierson. I hope you both are doing well!

What an adorable "birthday girl". Maylin, you are a little princess. So happy that we were able to celebrate and celabrate and celabrate with you!
