For the Love of Sunset Beach

Day 2, 3, 4, and 5 looked very similar to day 1 at the beach. Wake up feed the kids "beach cereal," (other wise known as lucky charms, fruit loops or coco puffs). Kristi slathering the five kids bodies with SPF 50 sunscreen, myself applying face sunscreen to the same 5 and putting the girls hair in "piggies". Adam and Ian getting the coolers packed, the Grandma's cleaning up the kitchen and getting their things together. Before long we were off once again wheeling our"wagons of fun" to the beach for the day.
Fortunately our house was located near the handicap access to the beach so we didn't have to pull the wagons over the dunes. Just a straight shot to the glorious sand and water. The rest of the day is spent enjoying the gift of the beach from our dear and loving God!

If you haven't noticed Maylin isn't intimidated by many things, not even eager seagulls who want a piece of her spilled chips. I wasn't sure they weren't going to start trying to take chips right out of her hands as she tried to eat what was left. But she never batted an eye she just kept on trucking as if they weren't even there.

Eventually both kids had enough of the hungry birds and began chasing them away.
I love this action shot of Pierson trying to splash the birds away.

Maylin gives her celebratory "Funny Dance" (Pierson coined the funny dance) after conquering the crazy birds.

Flying kites were another favorite pass time. A common site around us was Lighting McQueen, Hello Kitty, Buzz Lightyear or one of the Disney Princesses flying high around our tent.

Cooling off in the "little water" aka tidal pools was also a hit with all of the kids. It gave them a much needed break from tumbling under the waves.

Darcy playing in the sand building castles. Cutie pie!!!

Maylin gives Daddy a exfoliating sand bath! OUCH Daddy is a good sport.

Too Cha Cha for words!

Winding down for day. The kids and the grown ups were always tired after a full day at the beach. Despite the tiredness we somehow managed to get ice cream 4 nights, make it out to eat twice and make smores another night, but we'll save all of that for another post another day!

I'm not sure you can convince me that those chips were spilled accidentally. I think your brave girl rather liked her encounters with the birds...
Can we go back next week?
